A GP referral is most common, via a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) referral. This allows for up to 5 services per annum, approx $52.95 per session and include item codes 721, 723 and 731.

WorkCover Insurance
Unfortunately, hearing loss as a result of a workplace related incident affects some workers whom then become eligible for compensation under the Worksafe authority.
Scherer Deane Audiology is an accredited Worksafe contracted service provider providing professional advice, treatment services and devices to help live a better quality of life.
We can help you understand eligibility criteria.
-
NDIS
The NDIS is a new way of providing support/funding to Australian citizens under the age of 65 with a permanent disability, including hearing loss.
Support may include individual personal care, access to community services and therapies and essential equipment required.
Scherer Deane Audiology is not an accredited provider as we cannot provide all services to everyone, however, we are very happy to advise and put you in the right place with reputable providers nearby.

Private Self-Funded
We advocate knowing about your health and choosing what’s right for you. An untreated hearing loss worsens issues arising from cognitive impairment and reduces quality of life but by properly treating a hearing loss with hearing technology is a proven and non-invasive way to enhance cognition, significantly reduce risks of dementia , and improve physical wellbeing. Hearing well can even can reverse the early symptoms of dementia!
We work closely with 29 GP’s locally, several nurses and ENT’s, nutritionists, exercise physiotherapists and occupational therapists, neurologists and more. We believe that integrated whole-person Audiological care offers incredible personalised solutions.
